The Matrix nails

Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is.

You have to see it for yourself.

The Matrix is everywhere. It is all around us. Even now, in this very room. You can see it when you look out your window or when you turn on your television. You can feel it when you go to work... when you go to church... when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.

I watched the first Matrix movie during my second year of uni when I was taking a psychology course in perception and our lecturer told us to watch it because it would provide good insight to some ideas we would be exploring later in semester. Yeah, well... didn't totally get it, probs should have paid a tad more attention

At the request of the bf I have created this nail design inspired by The Matrix

You will need:

Base coat - Revlon quick dry base coat
Electric green - Illamasqua Omen
Black with a little shimmer in it - Sally Hansen Midnight in NY
White - Face of Australia Cool Cotton
Blue - Sinful Colors Endless Blue
Red - OPI Tasmanian Devil Made Me Do It
Top coat - Sally Hansen Insta-Dri
Striping tape
Large dotting tool
Thin striping brush

Get ready, we are about to enter The Matrix

Start with a base coat and then paint your pinky, middle and thumb electric green and your ring and index finger shimmery black

You'll need to leave these to dry completely

Take your striping tape and lay down a few lines from the free edge down to form a rough triangle shape

Now paint the nails black and then quickly remove the striping tape before the polish starts to dry

You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.
You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

On the two black nails we are going to create the 2 pills - one blue, one red.

Using a large dotting tool or end of a pencil make 3 white dots, above each other, and then use a striping tool or toothpick dipped in white polish to join the dots and fill in the sides so you have one oval shape on each if the 2 black nails

Leave the white polish to dry for a bit and then go over them, one with blue polish and one with red polish

Add your top coat and you are ready!

***Fun fact alert***

Omen, the electric green I used is from Illamasqua's Paranormal collection and glows under black/UV lights!!! So I had a play ;)
