Mental Health Week

The 5th - 12th of October is Mental Health Week in Australia and this week the ABC channel has dedicated TV shows and events all in the effort to raise money and awareness for mental health. 

" To support Mental Health Week, ABC is going Mental As... Join us, show your support and donate to mental health research today."

What a fabulous effort! I am so impressed by the ABC and the incredible work so many people have contributed to the cause. Last night the variety show 'Crack Up' was screened as the finale of the week and it was a hoot and a half! Talent from a range of channels put on a fantastic and hilarious show and over $1,000,000 has been raised so far. The aim of this week has been to remove the negative stigma of mental health, to start conversations and support those who are experiencing ill-mental health. 

Surprise surprise I was inspired by the fab logo and design the ABC are using for their Mental As campaign that I wanted to create some nail art! So here we go...

Pink Ribbon Nails

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Australia.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Australian women. I know amazing women who have beaten, are battling and who have sadly passed away from breast cancer. October is a special opportunity for us to focus on breast cancer and its impact on those affected by the disease in our community and continue to raise awareness.

This is a beautiful campaign and I wanted to create a piece of nail art in support.  

I water marbled with Candy by piCture pOlish and White On by Sally Hansen.

For my surprise nail I made a soft ombre with the same pink and white polishes and then used Fing'rs pink bling embellishments to create the pink ribbon which I secured with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.
