Pineapple Nails

Of late I have been really appreciating fruit, the sweet juicy taste of the flesh and especially how aesthetically extraordinary they are! This has sparked an insane amount of inspiration for fruit themed nail art. Earlier in the year I did these Watermelon Nails which I adored so I want to do a few more starting with the delicious pineapple!!!

You will need:

Base coat - Essence 24/7 studio nails
Yellow polish - OPI I Can't Cope-acabana
Light orange polish - Essie Haute as Hello
Forest green polish - China Glaze Four Leaf Clover
Mint green polish - Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet
Top coat - Face of Australia Aussie Nights
Thin nail art brush

Start with a base coat and then paint your nails an opaque bright yellow

Once dry take your thin nail brush and dip it in some light orange polish. We are going to make a rough criss-cross pattern. A good way to do this is cover most of the brush in the polish and then wipe the majority of the polish off so it's not dripping. Lay the brush upon the nail and slowly wipe it across the nail while rotating your finger to help the process

Make 3 or 4 lines going diagonal in one direction and then do the same going diagonal in the opposite direction. The lines don't have to be perfectly straight and having them rough and a little uneven will add to the realistic fruit effect we are going for

Clean off the brush by swirling it in polish remover and wiping it on some paper towel

To create the waxy leaves dip the end of the brush into the forest green polish. Create 3-4 leaves by pulling down a thick line from the free edge and tapering the ends and flicking off the alternating sides

To add some dynamic highlights to the leaves to give the illusion of movement and sunlight take your thin brush with a little mint green polish on the end. Draw a small lines down each leaf

Add a top coat and your finger licking nails are good enough to eat!

yeah I used grapes for decoration... what of it :)
